Anxiety Therapy in NYC for Taylor Swift Stans and Swifties

Holistic Online Therapy Counseling for NYC + FREE 15-min Consult Call

Finding a therapist in NYC is not easy, I know. Psychology Today and other directories have so many options and filters it can be hard to know what to search for and how to screen out the best therapy matches near you. This is a mostly silly blog for the robots to use to index my website correctly as a Brooklyn therapist specializing in providing online psychotherapy for adults living in New York State, but if you’re here I hope you enjoy the randomness!

NYC Psychotherapy for Highly Sensitive Adults

Swifties feel emotions deeply like Highly Sensitive People or HSPs, a practice specialty of mine. If it feels like Taylor has access to your phone data or has read your mind with her lyrics, you’re far from alone. The singer-songwriter has been serving us hit after hit since 2006. Like many Highly Sensitive Women, it seems Tay has a gift for somatic experiencing, feeling her nuanced emotions deeply. This understandably can be both a gift and a curse.

Therapy for Anti-Heroes brave enough to face their shadow

Let me guess, you’re the problem, it’s you? We all have selves from periods of survival we’re not super proud of. Instead of bouncing from avoiding that baggage to being overly self-critical, lets carve out an hour a week to process the shit you’ve yet to understand, forgive yourself for, or even make a few amends. In six months, I bet you feel 10x lighter in your emotional body and spirit.

Other 90’s Kid/Elder Millennial Auntie Stuff

Hilary Duff’s How I Met Your Father makes my 90s kid heart flutter! The goddess that is Ms. Duff, the one child star we didn’t have to worry about so much, has been killing it! Now we have Aiden, Samantha, AND Barney Stinson added to the mix?? I must be the core demographic for this show because I had the privilege of watching Doogie Howser, Lizzie Maguire, Sex in the City and How I Met Your Mother in real time, kids. Are you looking for a therapist roughly the same age in NYC that will understand the cultural references of your generation? If Mr. Feeny raised you as well, you’re in good hands. I’d be happy to talk about vintage butterfly clips from – as my niece horrifically calls it – the 1900s!

If you’re like my girls Taylor and Hilary, you travel a fair bit and protect your privacy as best you can. There are a lot of therapists in Brooklyn, NY, but which is right for you? I’d advise Virtual Therapy, Online Counseling, Telehealth – whatever you’d like to call it – we’ll be meeting via secure video or phone for weekly psychotherapy. As long as you’re a NY resident, therapy can continue even as you travel about for work, pleasure or digital nomadism. Yes, it will feel a bit different from in-person therapy in NY because you wont be commuting, sitting in a waiting room, breathing recycled air, waiting for trains or lyfts. It also decreases the overall cost to you because a second NYC rent doesn’t need to get factored into the business plan. Do I plan on returning to the office someday? Perhaps! Group Therapy NYC

I can see the headlines now, “Salty NY Psychotherapist who claims Taylor Swift ‘stole her hair’ offers a truce if singer agrees to join clinician’s Monthly Manifesting online therapy support group.” Alright, it’s highly unlikely but sometimes hearing Tay or friend Lana Del Ray expressing themselves lyrically, I want to scream, “Girl, call me! We can work through this!” Hilary Duff’s character in Younger and all characters of HIMYM + HIMYF are could really use some New York Psychotherapy and energy healing Brooklyn style. Starting in April, we will be adding a new group called Overthinkers Unanimous – a cheeky play on 12 step program culture, with a focus on supporting women and gender expansive adults navigating anxiety, high sensitivity, perfectionism, entrepreneurship, creative professions, PTSD and C-PTSD. We will meet virtually every other Wednesday at 6pm starting April 12, 2023. Go here to learn more and get signed up!
